The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority is upgrading the fiber lines and network equipment to all of it’s service buildings and rapid stations along the “RED Line” track. The upgrade consists of a new 96 Strand singlemode fiber along approximately 20 miles of track from the Cleveland Airport to the far eastern regions of Cleveland which is to be used as a redundant communication path for all network uses along the “Red Line”. Also, Lake Erie Technologies is installing new network signalling equipment with a DC power backup system to numerous locations along the “RedLine”.
Lake Erie Technologies is overseeing the physical installation of the fiber and programming of the network electronics along with performing all fiber terminations and testing.
