In May of 2009, Lake Erie Electric was awarded the 230,000 square foot Cleveland Museum of Art Phase II Expansion.
The Lake Erie Electric Engineering department created coordination and installation drawings which consisted of 2 basement levels of utility space, 1 basement level of owner/back of house space, 1 level of general public space, 1 level of gallery space, 2 levels of office space, and a new five-story atrium as well as renovation to existing areas of the museum.
The Local 38 electricians provided excellent craftsmanship. They extended the existing 5kV electrical system to a new unit substation and installed over 171 new power and lighting panels. The new panels provided an extension to the following systems; normal and emergency generator power, two existing lighting control, fire alarm, and security.
We installed approximately 242,000 feet of conduit with 925,000 feet of wire, 8600 feet of Lite Lab Lighting Bus, 6,200 light fixtures, 2900 feet of floor duct, and 2000 feet of cable tray.
