The Cleveland Clinic Foundation continued to expand its reach to the outer suburbs and decided to build a Family Health and Ambulatory Surgery Center in Avon, Ohio in 2010. The Richard E. Jacobs Center is a 190,000 square foot building comprised of a four-story Family Health Center and a two-story Ambulatory Surgery Center.
Lake Erie Electric was awarded the electrical package which included the power distribution, lighting, technology package, and the fire alarm system.
The Family Health Center serves the needs of patients in Cuyahoga and Lorain counties with 150 exam rooms in medical offices across multiple medical fields. The Ambulatory Surgery Center features an Outpatient Surgery Center with four Operating and Procedure Rooms, an Infusion Suite for chemotherapy patients, and a full-scale Imaging/Radiology Center. One unique feature of the building is the Therapy Pool with underwater treadmills. The project was completed in 2011.
