Lake Erie Electric expanded into the Akron market via the acquisition of two well-known electrical construction companies. In 2004 the company acquired Hirsch Electric Company in Cleveland. Hirsch Electric also had a small operating office in Akron. One year later, in 2005, the Company acquired Loomis Electric Company. Loomis Electric was an old line, full service electrical contracting firm that had been founded in 1899.

The combination of these two operating companies solidified Lake Erie Electric’s commitment to the Akron geographic area and increased the company’s ability to bid and successfully build most any kind and size of electrical project.
